IDENTIFY THE FINANCIAL LITERACY ON STUDENTS USING EXPLORATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS: AN EVIDENCE FROM FACULTY OF TEACHER TRAINING AND EDUCATION

The aim of this research is to find out the intial factors which affecting studentss financial literacy at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sebelas Maret University.
This research employed the explaratory factor analysis to identify all suspected factors in which related to the financial literacy. Accomodating 108 students who already have obtained the related subject in finance as sample, This study found that there are four factors that affecting financial literacy the students namely (1) experience and education, (2) socioeconomic factors of parents, (3) individual/personal factors, and (4) demographic factors.
The study imply that the financial literacy of the students are critical to applied on a complete curriculum to avoid the financial literacy. Furthermore, it is also important to create and develop an approach on how to reduce the financial literacy on non-economic or accounting department.
