Reducing Unemployment of The Vocational School Graduates: Establishing Cooperation with The World of Business and Industry Along Adjusting The Major and The Target of The Jobs in Indonesia

The main purpose of this research was to find out how to reduce unemployment of vocational school graduates in Indonesia by establishing cooperation with the world of business and industry and also adjusting the major and the job targets. The result of the observation indicated that there is a problem about the graduates of vocational school that unemployed due to incompatibility between school and the target of the jobs in the world of business and industry around the school area so that the cause of graduates are unemployed or the graduate have to find the jobs in other area that corresponding to their major.
The case study was conducted at Vocational School No. 2 Palembang, the selection of this school because this school is a model school for other vocational school in Palembang city and the graduates of this school mostly accepted in industry and other graduates opened their own business or went to college.
The findings of this research in terms of reducing unemployment of vocational school graduate is apply the model of the establish cooperation with the world of business and industry so there is a match between the major in school and the target of the jobs in the world of business and industry.
