AGRIBUSINESS – BASED CONTRIBUTION AS THE PESANTREN FINANCIAL RESOURCE

Pesantren – as religious educational institutions, in general have weaknesses in financing. As an origin indigenous Islamic education institution, pesantren is able to accurately manage its institutional funding. A general trend happened shown that pesantren are not economically self-sufficient and unable to optimize exploitation of cost sources independently; which caused pesantren experiencing a condition of reliance on source of cost from external parties. The phenomenon which happened in Pesantren Al-Ittifak Ciwidey of Bandung Regency shown that pesantren can optimize the obtaining process of pesantren funding sources by exploring the potential of agribusiness (agriculture, vegetables, and livestock). Pesantren could finance the educational program independently and maintain its existence up to now to achieve the national recognition from the Government. This research was expected to contribute significantly in becoming the solution of agribusiness-based contribution as the pesantren financial resource. This research was aimed to explore and describe the agribusiness – based contribution as the Pesantren financial resource on Al-Ittifak Ciwidey Bandung. This research used qualitative approach with case study method. The types of research include interdisciplinary research both on pesantren financing and agribusiness research. Sources of data were extracted from a number of respondents; kyai (the leader of pesantren), ustad (male teacher) and ustadzah (female teacher), students, employees (agriculture and livestock), and a number of community leaders. The results of the study concluded that Pesantren Al-Ittifak Ciwidey is able to explore and optimize the source of pesantren financial through the agribusiness – based contribution as the Pesantren financial resource.
